What's your cuppa' ?? the beauty of brewed beverages

Hello everyone!! Like I told you yesterday, the monsoon fest on my blog starts from today. Food, Fashion and Feel is the theme.

I am sure that just like while I write this, while you read this too, the atmosphere around you must be cold and the rain must be hitting hard on your window sill.
I think most of you will agree that there is nothing as good as a hot cup of tea or coffee in the monsoon weather be it for beating that work stress or just relaxing at your home or at a restaurant.

So my today's post is going to be all about these beverages.
I will show you how to add a dash of different flavour and a twist to the usual beverage in your cup and that too very easily and without much effort. You will also learn how each of these recipes by me are beneficial to your health!

*Disclaimer: The below mentioned recipes are entirely mine and all the photos and the content you see in them are original and belong entirely to me and are not copied from the internet and I am willingly sharing my ideas to the public.

FRUIT TEA

Ingredients:
1. Tea powder
2. Water
3. Fruit
4. sugar
5. Ginger

Procedure:
Take a quantity of water equal to one cup. Heat the water, chop the fruit into pieces. I have used the Pear fruit. You can use any fruit of your choice because each one adds a different flavour. Add some pieces of the chopped fruit in the water. Unless you are making tea for more than one person I would suggest you that do not use the entire fruit for the tea.

Chop some pieces of ginger add them to the water.

Let the mixture simmer on a low flame for one or two minutes. As the flavour will be imparted to the water you will start noticing that the fruit loses it's natural colour and the aroma of ginger gets stronger.

Add sugar. While adding sugar always remember to add a little less amount than you would while making a normal cup of tea. Half tablespoon sugar should suffice.
The reason is that the fruit is already going to add it's sweetness. So for one cup of tea, half a tablespoon is enough unless you like your tea to be really sweet.

Bring the water to boil. Add one tablespoon tea powder (or according to your taste)

Let the tea simmer for one or two minutes on a medium flame.

Strain the tea into your cup with the help of a strainer.

And you are done!

If you wish. You may add milk to it.

Why fruit tea???
Many a times we buy fruits and some of them get leftover. They are a little too over ripe after some days to be edible. Most of us end up throwing them. Instead they can be used to prepare fruit tea although it is not always necessary to use over ripened or uneaten fruit.
You can use fresh fruit and you wont regret using it.
Why? Fruits contain natural sweetness- sucrose (split into fructose and glucose) so the necessity of adding sugar lessens or if the fruit is too sweet there is no need to add sugar which will lessen the calories in your cup.
Needless to say this makes the tea healthier.
Adding ginger to the tea boosts your immunity system and cures common cold or cough.

So I hope you try this one out. Enjoy the distinct flavour and taste which each fruit has!

MINT AND SAFFRON COFFEE

Ingredients:
1.Water
2.Coffee powder
3. Mint (Pudina) leaves
4. Saffron spice (Kesar)
5. Sugar

Procedure:

Take a quantity of water equal to one cup. Heat the water, chop the mint leaves into smaller pieces.

Prepared on induction cooker instead of Gas
Bring the water to boil. Add a tiny quantity (very few strands) of saffron spice. Let it simmer for one or two minutes on low flame. The aroma of mint and saffron will deepen and that is how you come to know that the flavour has been imparted to the water. The leaves will loose their green colour to become lighter.

Add one tablespoon sugar (or according to taste)

Add one tablespoon coffee (or according to taste)

Let the coffee simmer for one minute on medium flame.

Strain the coffee into your cup with the help of a strainer.

And you are done!

If you wish you can add milk or garnish the beverage with saffron strands on top.
